About the event
- What is a “networking group”?
A group of local professionals who meet regularly to exchange leads, information, advice, and ideas and to learn more about each other’s local businesses and services.
- Do I have to own a business to attend?
No. Business professionals, service providers, etc. are welcome. Your business does not have to be physically located in the Sacopee Valley area, but your business should be conducted in the local area.
- Why do I need to network when people already know my business?
The Sacopee Valley area is growing and with that comes more business owners and professionals. Regular networking gives you an edge by allowing you to personally connect with your biggest cheerleaders – other local businesses!
- What exactly goes on at a networking meeting?
We meet on the first Tuesday morning of each month at a rotating location. The meeting is kicked off by a brief introduction/housekeeping items then we go around the room to introduce everyone and get started. During your time to introduce yourself, we encourage you to give a few brief details about your business, describe who your ideal customer is, mention any challenges that the group may be able to help with, ask for specific referrals, etc. This is your time to have the full attention of the group.
We invite our participants to highlight their knowledge or services by presenting to the group. Each month one member will have the floor for 5-10 minutes to give a more detailed presentation to the group about their business, product, service, event, etc.
- Is this the same as BNI or other franchise-style networking groups?
No, no, no. We do not operate as a BNI nor are we part of any franchise group. Membership is NOT required, we have very limited conditions, and best of all – this group is free!
We are simply a group of like-minded professionals looking to better network with other local professionals in an effort to exchange more local business and support one another.
- Is this group run by the Chamber of Commerce?
We are not run by a Chamber however, we have solid relationships with our Chambers and we receive fantastic support, information, resources, first-hand knowledge of upcoming business issues, legal updates, etc.
- What should I bring?
Business cards, notebook, pen, and your networking attitude! We meet at a restaurant or coffee shop, please consider supporting your local business owner by purchasing a coffee, muffin, etc. when meetings are held at such locations.
- Do I have to RSVP?
No, you don't! Please join us either way but if you do RSVP you will receive an extra reminder via email and our host will have a better idea on attendance.
